The Processing & Digitization Assistant, under the supervision of the University Archivist and Archives and Special Collections staff, will undertake the archival processing and digitization of an archival collection relating to the visual arts in Saskatchewan. The digital presentation will contribute to the University's Canada 150 projects. Specific tasks will include:

(1) Research to collect biographical and historical data on records creators;
(2) Physical organization of the collection;
(3) Preparation of an archival finding aid; and
(4) Selection and scanning of materials from the collection.

Applicants should be working towards a Bachelors degree in the visual arts or humanities with a background in Canadian history. Strong written and oral communications skills are required as are research and project management skills. Experience working in an archives, library, or museum is also an asset. Candidates should be fluent in English, some basic French may be required.

This position is funded under the Young Canada Works (YCW) in Heritage Institutions program. To be eligible for consideration applicants must be Canadian citizens or legally entitled to work in Canada and be between the ages of 16 and 30.
