Must have been a full time student in the previous academic semester and intends to return to full time studies in the fall.
Must be between the ages of 16 and 30.
This position involves a variety of collection and archives related tasks, including: maintenance of physical storage; cataloguing and digitising materials; preventative conservation of a varied collection; writing detailed catalogue descriptions in a database; assessment of material to determine if there are duplicates; and, representing the museum at Market Square events.
Qualifications
Preferred field of study should be in history, museum studies, or a related discipline. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft suite programs, some knowledge of databases, particularly CollectiveAccess, and Photoshop is beneficial. Good communication skills and the ability to work with others. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Critical thinking and writing skills.
