Britannia Beach, BC is a small unincorporated village (400 people) but it is only 12km from Squamish, a community of 17,000 people. The Museum is located on the very beautiful Sea to Sky Highway which is the main road to Whistler. The Museum makes Britannia Beach a community of interest to tourists. The Museum is a National Historic Site (The Mill) and an underground tunnel. Public transportation is limited.
Throughout the summer, there are numerous outdoor, cultural and arts events in the region. Squamish and Whistler have extensive outdoor recreation opportunities including the Whistler Bike Park and world-class outdoor climbing in Squamish. Vancouver and its myriad of tourist attractions is a 45 minute drive south, while Squamish (West Coast Railway Heritage Park) and Whistler (Squamish Lillooet Cultural Centre) also have visitor attractions.
