Job Description: Visitor Services Attendants are the first contact Gallery patrons have as they enter through our doors. The duties include: greeting all visitors and offering information on exhibitions, programs and special events, providing short tours on request and answering a wide range of general questions. Attendants welcome and assist children and parents who participate in our summer programs. Administrative tasks include; registration for art camps and classes, managing the gift shop, answering phones and queries as needed, handling cash and debit terminal. They will responsibly handle opening and closing of the Gallery on a daily basis. There will two attendants on at all times.

Hours / Wage : 11 weeks. Approximately 40 hrs / week. $13.00 / hour Weekend and some evening work.

Qualifications:
• Post secondary education
• Excellent public relations and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Previous experience in retail or cash handling an asset.
• Experience and knowledge in the arts an asset.
• Hours include weekends and some evenings.


Thunder Bay Art Gallery is the only public art gallery located between Sault Ste. Marie and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Its mandate is to exhibit, educate and celebrate work by contemporary Indigenous and Regional artists. We are a tourist destination that also runs summer art education programs.

The city of Thunder Bay has a population of approximately 110,000. It is located in Northwestern Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior. Thunder Bay enjoys a vast wilderness to the north and because of its unique location on Lake Superior it is the hub of northern Ontario.
