Melfort & District Museum has a summer student position available as Summer Family Program Coordinator. This is open only to students currently enrolled in a post-secondary program of studies. The position is fulltime for 16 wks/5days/wk/7hrs/day. Wage is $13.00 an hour. Applicants must have very good communication skills, a strong work ethic, be able to work both independently and in a teamwork situation and must enjoy working within a heritage environment. Other assets would include a love of history, a creative hand at arts and crafts, and ability to work with people of all ages, esp. children and seniors. The job entails planning, organizing, and overseeing the delivery of a program focussing on heritage, culture and family roots. It will involve finding and/or making resources, involving other staff and volunteers, and creating opportunities for resource people from the community.
