The University of Alberta Museum of Zoology (UAMZ) is housed in the Department of Biological Sciences, and consists of specimens of all the vertebrate groups — fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. This position will focus on the fish, amphibian and reptile collections.

The summer student Curatorial Assistant will learn appropriate curatorial techniques for these collections, including preparation and preservation of vertebrates, data collection and documentation of museum specimens, and maintaining a computerized database.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of and interest in natural history and museum collections, and will have taken some college or university level organismal vertebrate zoology courses.
