Position summary: Quest Art School + Gallery is looking to hire a Curatorial Assistant. The Curatorial Assistant will be a front-line representative of Quest Art in the galleries, the Art Shop, within the Midland Cultural Centre and at community events. They will assist with the installation of four exhibitions, greet visitors to Quest Art, assist with the promotion of the exhibitions and Quest Art Shop through social media and complete some data entry projects. This position is required to work Saturdays in July and August.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have at least one year of post-secondary education in a fine arts/visual arts, arts administration, or museum studies program; have a strong commitment to the arts and culture; have excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills; be self-motivated and able to work independently; willing to work evenings and/or weekends as required; be highly organized. A valid driver’s licence is an asset. Proficiency in oral and written French is an asset.

Quest Art School + Gallery is a charitable organization based in Midland, Ontario serving the community of North Simcoe. Our mission is to engage and enrich the community through visual arts education, exhibition and appreciation. We achieve this by offering art classes and workshops for children, teens, adults and seniors. Our three gallery spaces provide exhibition opportunities for artists at all stages of their careers. We are anchor tenants within the Midland Cultural Centre which opened in 2012.
Midland is located on beautiful Georgian Bay and is a 90 minute drive north of Toronto. The area is rich in historical, cultural and recreational activities. The population doubles in the summer months with cottagers and visitors enjoying all the region has to offer.
