REPORTS TO: Digital and Communications Manager


MANDATE: THEMUSEUM is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Assistant with excellent writing skills and the ability to channel creativity into powerful content for use in traditional and digital media. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised and has a keen eye for delivering error-free content and crafting compelling stories across platforms. The Marketing Assistant will assist management in maintaining and elevating the voice of THEMUSEUM and its sub brands. Skills in graphic design, photography and video production are an asset.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement marketing strategies and tactics developed by Director of Brand, Research and Strategic Initiatives

- Prepare press releases, media advisories and develop dynamic copy for digital and traditional marketing materials, including blog posts, e-blasts and social media posts

- Implement ongoing content updates and fixes on THEMUSEUM's website

- Monitor accounts and manage conversations on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Google My Business, and Trip Advisor, and provide prompt responses to direct messages and inquiries

- Assist in the development of ongoing e-mail marketing campaigns

- Execute tasks as outlined in THEMUSEUM Editorial Calendars

- Capture the spirit of events through live coverage, using various social media platforms and mediums, including but not limited to: photos, videos, periscope and Facebook Live broadcasts, Instagram Stories, and Boomerangs

- Update local community calendars with events at THEMUSEUM

- Manage promotions and community partnerships with local businesses, artists and organizations

- Administer promotional contests across social media platforms

- Organize and execute off-site opportunities to generate brand awareness

- Database updates and management

- Contribute to research through creating and delivering surveys

- Other duties as assigned
