The Kootenay Lake Historical Society wants to hire a local or regional high school student whose focus over their nine week term, will be a S.S. Moyie “Student Ambassador” and assist staff by their involvement with all visitors to the SS Moyie & Visitor Center. Emphasising the importance that these steamship sternwheelers were to an emerging mining and resource extraction in the early development of the Kootenay Lake economic history would be essential. A S.S. Moyie “Student Ambassador” would provide an extremely beneficial role to the Kootenay Lake Historical Society, as their presence at a busy Historic Site and Visitor Centre, would assist all the staff with a refreshing and enthusiastic attitude and help visitors with a hands-on approach to engaging them.
