The candidate will have an interest in pursuing a career in contemporary art, particularly as an arts administrator or related practice. The candidate should be studying or have recently completed a degree (BA, MA, BFA, MFA) in arts administration, curatorial studies, visual art, art history, cultural studies, media studies, or related field.
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Fundraising Intern will participate in a broad range of activities that include various aspects of running a contemporary art gallery/museum, including research, writing, and administration with a strong focus on successful fundraising preparations and logistics.
The successful candidate will work with the Plug In staff in our downtown Winnipeg gallery. Winnipeg has gained a solid reputation in the development of visual arts in Canada, thanks to a wide range of artists and arts organizations. The city has a celebrated history of producing promoting innovative art practices. It is a dynamic, diverse, urban community, with Plug In ICA located at the heart of Winnipeg’s downtown. The institute is the leading centre for contemporary art on the prairies, and carries a strong 46 year history.
