Job Title: Canada150 Exhibition Coordinator
Duration: 16 weeks (May 15 – August 31, 2017)
Languages of Work: English
Salary: 35 Hours per Week.

Overall Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Canada150 Exhibition Coordinator will be employed from May to August 2017 to assist the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum and the Town of Smiths Falls in celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary. The student will analyze and disseminate information to illustrate daily life in Smiths Falls circa 1867. This will be accomplished by acting as the Coordinator for the “Our Town: Smiths Falls in 1867 Canada” exhibitions. Responsibilities will include exhibition development, community engagement, and administration support. Acting in a leadership role, the Exhibition Coordinator will work with community partners and volunteers to install exhibitions and design educational programming in celebration of our local Canadian heritage.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a University or College student who is engaged in museum studies or related disciplines such as history, art history, archaeology, education and tourism & hospitality will also be considered.
The student must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a high proficiency of utilizing Word Processing. The ideal candidate will have strong people skills and can express their keen interest in Canadian heritage. They should possess leadership skills, the ability to work both independently and with others, and have an outgoing personality.

Student must have a reliable form of transportation.
