Niagara Falls Public Library has an exciting opportunity for a Summer Reading Club Outreach Programmer. We are looking for someone outgoing, friendly and patient, who can establish good rapport with children and parents to take the TD Summer Reading Club on the road this summer to City parks, childcare centres and camps. In addition to promoting and delivering Summer Reading Club, the Outreach Programmer will also be promoting Niagara StoryWalks and NFPL's local history project Canada 150: Niagara Falls - Then and Now (A photographic journey through the years). The successful candidate must be emotionally mature, responsible and able to work with a minimum of supervision. Discretion, good judgement and a love of literacy are also necessary. Previous experience working with children is an asset. The candidate must be competent in the use of basic computer technology, including email, website navigation, spreadsheets and word processors. A valid G-Class driver's license and access to a vehicle are required as well as a Vulnerable Sector Check current to within six months. The candidate must be able to lift a bag or box of books weighing 20lbs into and out of their car.
