The ETRC is looking for an enthusiastic and autonomous student, passionate about history, to work in the Archives Department. The project will give the successful candidate an opportunity to get a feel for working with archives as they preserve and organize documents and photographs attesting to the history of the English-speaking communities of the Eastern Townships. The project will further expand the student’s realm of knowledge through the digitization of historical documents, the preparation of an exhibition using photographs and records from the collection, and the preparation of social media posts to engage the public.

Wage: $13.00/hour, 35 hours/week
Dates: 29 May 2017 to 18 August 2017

Job description: This job consists of a three-part project that will work towards preserving, organizing archival documents attesting to the history of the English-speaking communities of the Eastern Townships at an accredited archives department. Included among the tasks are the preparation of a an exhibition using material from the archives and the preparation of social media posts.

Job qualifications:
-be a university student studying in documents and archives management, or history, or a related program;
-be fluent in English with a good knowledge of French;
-possess good research and writing skills.
