A Gift of Art is a Charity located in Newcastle, Ontario, to encourage local artists and to promote the love of art. The or5ganization offers space for artists to regularly show and sell their work and additionally holds solo exhibitions and an annual art show. Further programming, such as art classes and workshops for adults, youth and children as well as a Seniors' Speakers Series act to engage members of the community and greater area. A Gift of Art is currently looking for a summer student to be an assistant to the Manger and whose responsibilities will include:
Familiarizing with organizational policies, procedures and programming
Data collecting, (eg. program attendance, customer base and clients interests, demographics etc.)
Comparative Report writing
Database Construction
REQUIREMENTS:
Student working towards a BFA or equivalent with gallery or curatorial career aspirations
Experience with Word and Excel
Good Computer Skills
WORK WEEK:
Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
