Churchill Northern Studies Centre is seeking two Bilingual Program Facilitators to deliver educational programming in both official languages for the 2018 summer season. In addition to program delivery, they will support translating existing program materials into French. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing new online content and interpretive signage in both official languages to better serve our French-language audience.
This is an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in education and translation, build skills in programming for youth, contribute to ongoing interpretation goals, work with a diverse and dynamic team of professionals and liaise with a wide public, all while living in pristine wilderness surroundings. Some of your work days will include observing beluga whales, visiting National Historic Sites in the area and watching for polar bears- truly an unique experience.
Accommodations onsite are available for those living outside the Churchill region at CNSC staff subsidized rates. Candidates may also be eligible for a YCW wage subsidy for those travelling over 125km from their permanent residence to the job site.

Qualifications:
The summer candidates will be students currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in French Studies, Education, Business, Sciences or relevant field, with a keen interest in and/or knowledge of place-based learning. They must have an excellent command of both French & English, with the ability to read, write, speak and translate texts in both official languages. Experience working in an educational setting, particularly with program delivery, preferred. The Bilingual Program Facilitators should be comfortable with public speaking, commanding a large audience, and delivering dynamic programs in both official languages. The ideal candidate will be interested in translation, sciences, and education.
Applicants must be eligible under the Young Canada Works program in order to be considered for the position: legally allowed to work in Canada, between the ages of 16 – 30, currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and returning to school in the fall.
