Job Duties
• Using Virtual Collections and Excel databases to accession and catalogue Museum artifacts
• Handling, moving, storing, and photographing artifacts
• Review object documentation and identification, composition, appearance, need for treatment or restoration, and appropriate conservation methods.
• Assist Museum Curator with Collections Management research and reports as needed
• Working with culturally sensitive artifacts while adhering to protocols
• Exceptional time management and organization skills, with attention to detail
• Will work both independently and as part of a team to complete Collections Management projects
Qualifications:
• Minimum completion of a diploma, preferably in a field relevant to Museum Studies
• Experience handling artifacts
• Experience working with Indigenous artifacts
• Research experience
Assets
• Previous Museum experience
• Experience with artifact conservation and/or collections management
• Research experience relevant to collections management/artifact handling
• Experience in Anthropology, Archaeology, or Museology would be an asset
