Project Background:
Canada's Sports Hall of Fame is seeking the assistance on one intern to help with various events and launch of a new social media campaign. This internship will provide excellent hands-on training in museum communications and marketing.

The intern will assist with the tasks below.

Girls in Sport:
-Disseminate the video content to all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
-Disseminate the video content to all media partners and supporters (over 100+ organizations)
-Disseminate the video content to all of the individuals interviewed and encourage them to post the content. Approximately 30 individuals/organization.
-Establish the schedule for the release of the video content to all social media platforms.
-Compile all of the analytics related to the responses received from the posts including how many posts, impressions, followings and re-posts as they occur from various partners, supporters, etc.
-Re-post content as required.

Induction Dinner 2017 Event:
-Disseminate information about the Class of 2017, Canada's 150th, and Tom Longboat Award to all media outlets and invite them to the national media conference on November 9, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario.
-Contact/manage all media requests
-Develop and manage a digital communication strategy
-Draft and edit effective website and social media content.
-Create marketing materials for media.
-Plan a large-scale fundraising event and media conference.

Media Conferences - November 2017 and March/April 2018
-Help plan the Media Conference related to Play Hard, Fight Hard: Sport and the Canadian Military exhibit (proposed for early November 2017) and Class of 2018 announcement (April 2018) including preparing the content of the media kits - Background on Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, Background material, featured/key elements/stories, Media Release, invitations to media, and follow-up post media conference.
-Invite the media to attend the media conference and do phone follow-ups just prior to ensure and track attendance.
-Assist with the event to greet media and get them set-up and provide media kits, set up interviews for post media conference.
-Follow-up after the event and track coverage results.
-Assist with the creation of any marketing materials using InDesign.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should be a graduate of a marketing and communication program. The candidate should have a diploma or degree and must be between the ages of 18-30. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills and computer knowledge using MS Office. Knowledge of InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop is required.

Previous marketing and communications experience is required.

The position will be posted through numerous job sites including the Canadian Museums Association, Alberta Museum Association, Canadian Association for Sport Heritage listserve, and University job boards across Canada that have marketing and communication programs.

Four candidates will be shortlisted from those that apply and will be interviewed. The successful candidate must meet all YCW eligibility requirements.
