Dalhousie University Archives is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work full-time for approximately
21 weeks on a project to create a historical timeline containing historical information images for use during the celebration of Dalhousie University's 200th anniversary in 2018. The project will involve doing historical research on the University, selecting and digitizing items for use on the timeline and writing appropriate stories to help illustrate the event. The successful candidate will report to the Scholarly Communications Librarian.

Applicants should have the following qualifications:
1. Educational background in archival studies, history or librarianship, with a specialization or previous work
experience in archives;
2. Experience with computer applications (word processing, scanning equipment, databases, etc.) and
information systems (both personal computer and network);
3. Experience undertaking historical research and writing;
4. Knowledge of current theory and practice relating to information management;
5. Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally;
6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
7. Knowledge of digital preservation standards and best practices is a strong asset.
