A Cataloguing Assistant (Local History) is required to arrange, describe and physically process archival records pertaining to Region of Waterloo Library in order to make the records available to both internal and external researchers. The project will include working with staff at the Region of Waterloo Library. The project will also include the preservation of electronic records relating to the Region of Waterloo Library.
Candidates should have an interest in history, heritage, archival studies, regional government. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently following established procedures. Knowledge of archival practices is an asset. Fundamental knowledge of computerized office systems and programs including Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Candidates must have strong attention to detail.
