Summer Student Position at Montreal's Centre d'Activites Recreatives et Educatives (The C.A.R.E. Centre).

The C.A.R.E. Centre is a non-profit charitable organization in Montreal, Quebec, that provides a day program for adults with physical disabilities in the Montréal area. The C.A.R.E. Centre offers a program of recreational and educational activities to adults over 21 with physical disabilities. We advocate for our clients and provide them with opportunities for community social inclusion.

Job Length: June 26th-August 25th 2017

Student is required to partake in both the Summer Community Outings Program and the Summer Respite Camp.

•Summer Community Outings Program, Montreal, Quebec: $15/hr – June 26th -August 4th, 2017

•Summer Respite sleep away camp. (Room, meals & transportation included from 7th-25th), Ayer's Cliff, Quebec: 150$/day - August 7th-25th, 2017

•Students will gain experience working with adults with physical disabilities by planning activities and outings around Montreal & providing personal care. Students will participate in a three week sleep-away camp experience for our clients during the month of August.

Personal Attributes

•Language: English necessary

•Knowledge of French an asset

Competencies/ Qualifications:

•Experience working with special needs or currently enrolled in studies in related field as asset

•Experience in animating group discussions & activities

•Strong work ethic

•Punctual, responsible, dynamic, energetic

•Interest in outdoor physical activities

•Must be physically capable to do lifting, bending, & pushing wheelchairs

•First-aid/CPR certificate an asset.
