221A: Programs Assistant, Public Art
In Summer 2017, 221A will be undertaking a major public art commission for the Canada 150th Anniversary. The Public Art Programs Assistants will work with 221A's Curatorial team, under the supervision of Jesse McKee, Head of Strategy, to produce 15 public programming events outdoors at the organization's major public artwork site that will welcome a projected 100,000 visitors in the coming years.
221A supports artists and thinkers in developing cultural infrastructures that respond to ecological, social, and economic inequalities in the built environment. 221A’s mission is to become an internationally-renowned contemporary art institution that generates meaningful public dialogue and action about art, design, and their effects in society.

The selections process will start with a pre-screening stage where applications are reviewed for eligibility and validity - including determining eligibility to YCW. The successful applications will be followed up by a formal interview that provides an opportunity for the employer and employee to determine suitability. From there, the applicants will be narrowed down to a “short list,” which consists of the top three to five applicants who will be invited for a second round of interviews and reference checking.
