The primary objective of the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives is to educate community members, researchers and visitors, in an interesting and dynamic way, on the varied history and heritage of the Greater Vernon area. Artifact and archival collections are strategically assembled to accurately and authentically reflect the activities, interests and vibrancy of the people and natural history of the region.

The Greater Vernon Museum and Archives has the privilege of being listed as a top priority in the 2016 Greater Vernon Cultural Plan and we are only a few years away from expanding into a new facility. These next few years will be years of change and development for the Museum and Archives. The Collections Intern will work with staff to assess and reorganize our artefact collection and to begin the redevelopment of our exhibition and programming space. He/she will contribute to outreach and community events, and have the opportunity to meet and network with other arts and culture professionals.
