Horseshoe Bay is a 20 minute drive from downtown Vancouver and Bowen Island is a 20 minute ferry ride further west. Where the ferry docks is a tiny commercial village and the rest of the island is residential, with fine beaches, beautiful forest walks and friendly people. We are a community with one of the highest per capita of seniors and children and were ranked 4th in Canada of artistic small communities. The whole region is wet and grey for much of the year, but our summers are spectacular and everyone gets outside to enjoy all the area has to offer. Since Bowen Island is part of the Islands Trust, we have been protected from large-scale development making it one of the top three greenest spaces in the region. Easy to get to, natural, healthy and interesting: a popular tourist destination!

University students interested in operating a small museum and producing community events with heritage themes should apply. Federal job equity members are of particular interest. Important assets would be an ability to work independently, well-organized, digitally adept, well-written, friendly with strangers and curious about history. Send written resume to PO Box 78, Bowen Island, B.C. V0N 1G0 or email to bowenheritage@gmail.com. For more information see www.bowenheritage.org.
