Horticultural Assistant:
Working outdoors, planning and implementing irrigation and care schedule for urban orchard, garden, and grounds of eight acre site, and provide tours of the urban orchard and heritage gardens that are surrounded by rail and forest industry antiquities.
Required: a current student, considering a career in forestry or forest ecology, environmental engineering, botany, heritage and Museums. Must be a team player, must be interested in this region’s history and heritage. Passionate about learning more and trying new things. Must have great references (school/personal references accepted) must have advanced language skills in English.
Considered: first aid, experience working with public, additional languages, volunteer experiences.

The Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum is a not-for-profit organization that houses one of the largest collections of rail cars and forestry equipment in Western Canada. The museum offers and eight acre site of large scale artifacts and buildings as well as gardens and an urban orchard.
