The Archives and Research Collection at the MacOdrum Library, Carleton University seeks Special Collections technician for a multi-faceted project centered Canadian Modern Poetry, individuals who began the Modernist movement in Canada and the acquisition of materials to support this special collection. This project will create both an online and physical exhibit shedding light on the role of Canadian women and how they impacted the Modernist Movement, those who contributed and well as the special modern poetry collection at Carleton.

We are looking for 1 candidate with:

Familiarity with library special collections and their description

Experience with the digitization process (scanning) of textual, literary and photographic objects.

Experience with Museum exhibitions OR exhibitions in general

Experience using a databases

Strong knowledge of Canadian history

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in English, Public History, Library Science, Archival Studies, History (or the equivalent) and have experience handling / using databases while possessing excellent research skills.
