Position: Community Outreach Coordinator
Location: Ireland House at Oakridge Farm
Start and End Dates: June 5th – August 25th 2017
Wage: 35 hours/week,

Hourly Wage: $14.40
The Museums of Burlington are looking for a Community Outreach Coordinator. The successful applicant will:
• Work with the Education Department to develop a heritage-based outreach program which incorporates various forms of media. This accessible community-based outreach program will focus on early Burlington history and the role of Joseph Brant and the Six Nations Indigenous communities in its founding.
• Develop a proposal with recommendations, and include relevant research and resource materials.
• Provide interpretive support during public hours, programs, camps, and events.
Requirements:
• Pursuing a Degree, Diploma, and/or Certification in: Museum Studies, Public History, Social Work and/or Social Services, Communication Studies, or in a field involving working with children or the public
• Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, and have experience with research and program development through projects or work experience
• Must have experience working with children
• Candidates must provide proof of enrollment in a college or university program in order to be eligible through Young Canada Works
