The Town of Trinity has a population of around 250 people and is one of the primary cultural tourism destinations in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the short time period between June and September between 25 - 30,000 people visit this small community to visit the historic sites and attractions, attend a performance by our professional theatre company, Rising Tide Theatre, to go whale watching, visit the set of the television mini-series Random Passage or to simply enjoy the scenery along our rugged shores.

The Historical Society owns and operates five historic sites in the town: Trinity Museum (1966); Green Family Forge (1992); Court House, Goal and General Building (1996); Lester-Garland House (1997), Cooperage (2007) and Fort Point (2011). The Society also has an archives located in the Lester-Garland House that it is responsible for operating that contains materials that date to the early 1750s. The mandate of the Society is to preserve, present and promote the history of Trinity and the surrounding communities for its residents and visitors.
