The Brant Museum and Archives is seeking a Assistant Curator. Under the direction of the Programming & Community Coordinator, the Assistant Curator will be responsible for digitally cataloguing collection objects, undertaking an inventory of the collection, and implementing appropriate care and maintenance strategies in the collection storage areas. The Assistant Curator will also assist with day-to-day museum operations.
Language of Work: English
Hours: 35 hours per week for 14 weeks
Salary: $11.40 per hour

Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in heritage and/or education, and should be working towards a degree in history, education, cultural studies, or museology. In addition, the ideal candidate will:

- Work well with a variety of people with different abilities and age groups;
- Has knowledge of collections management and Past Perfect Software;
- Have good written and verbal communication skills;
- Have demonstrated research skills with good attention to detail;
- Be able to work with the Microsoft Office Suite of products; and,
- Meet the Young Canada Work eligibility requirements

This position will require lifting objects of various weights, negotiating small spaces, and climbing narrow staircases. An additional requirement of working Saturdays is essential.
