The Royal Alberta Museum, Alberta’s provincial museum, requires a Collections Technician to work under the direction of the Assistant Curator of the Western Canadian History Program as well as with Conservation and Production staff to create and construct customized boxes and crates for artifacts in the Fine Arts Collection. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team as well as work independently. The candidate must be familiar with standard museum practices, artifact handling and comfortable working with construction tools. The candidate must have good computer skills, have experience with still life (artifact) photography and be familiar with databases. Good analytical thinking and problem solving skills is an asset and attention to detail is a must. Please note that we recognize and support the Government of Canada’s job equity groups.
