SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Clarington Museums is currently seeking highly motivated individuals with an interest in the
interpretation of local history for summer employment at the museum. Positions available
include;
Summer Program Assistant
Location: Bowmanville, Ontario
Wage: $12.50/hr
Start Date: June 5, 2017
End Date: September 1, 2017
As a member of a team, responsibilities will include; maintaining a museum site through the
summer season, planning and delivery of children’s summer programming, summer special
events and summer public programs, providing informative guided tours of the exhibits to
visitors to the museum, providing museum services according to the procedures and policies
of Clarington Museums with an emphasis on excellent public relations.
Qualifications include; post secondary education in education, history, archival or museum
studies preferred, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in a
team environment, excellent public relations skills including an ability to provide quality
customer service, demonstrated experience working with children, adults and seniors, working
knowledge of Word, Excel and Publisher, First Aid and CPR training. Knowledge of local,
Ontario and Canadian history.
