The Centre de la Mi-Carême is looking to hire a full-time student to (1) work as guide in the interpretive centre, (2) help plan & lead events developed by the team, (3) offer workshops with groups of visiting youth, (4) greet and tend to customers.
Students can come in expecting to be learning how an interpretive centre runs, to be creating in arts - exploring different mediums, to be developing their leadership, communication, and event-planning skills as the whole group works together to put cultural events in place for the summer 2017 season.
We are looking for students that are dynamic and fun (much like the Mi-Carême theme), that have a thirst for knowledge, are creative, responsible, able and are not afraid of challenge.
An ideal job for students in the field of Tourism Management, museum studies, history, applied arts, and community development.
This position is in the Cheticamp/Grand-Etang region. The summer season in Cheticamp is filled with festivities and events. The Centre's backyard happens to be on one of our many beaches and front yard a picturesque harbour with scenic view of the rolling mountains.
If you are accepted for this position, we are able to help you find accommodations. Though a driver's license is not required for the job, there is no public transport available in the region, only a taxi - we are also able to help you with transportation if need be.
