Digital Archivist (Family Histories)


One position available only from May 11, 2017 to August 31st, 2017


The location of the position is the Peachland Museum located on the picturesque waterfront in beautiful downtown Peachland, BC a town of approximately 5000 citizens.


Working under the supervision of the Peachland Museum Curator, the candidate will work to digitize historical records, photos, written narratives and other documents contained in the family history files of the Peachland Historical Society. This project has been initiated, however, there are still approximately 200 family history files to read, sort , prioritize and scan. Once digital in nature the data will be entered into a Museum Software program called Past Perfect. The successful candidate will have a passion for history and a great curiosity about those who have gone before. Well honed computer skills are a must with experience in a Windows environment to be able to work efficiently and troubleshoot as needed. A penchant for punctuality will be appreciated.
