INTERPRETER

As an outgoing educator for Fortune Head ECO Friends Inc. at the Fortune Head Geology Centre, George & Mary Lake Heritage House and other cultural and historical assets within the community of Fortune, NL you should be currently enrolled in a University program with some courses in earth science/geology.

As one of two Interpreters, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of various educational programs and tours that will provide the general public with a magnitude of experiences both related to the culture and natural history of the area, enhancing the eastern region geological assets. The interpretation of a variety of earth science themes will also be marketed and promoted along with streamlining and engaging dialogue online and through social media opportunities.


Successful candidates should also have a valid driver’s license and be willing to relocate to Fortune, NL for the duration of the contract.

Fluency in French and First Aid Training is considered an asset but not a requirement.

Compensation is in the amount of $14.50 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, minimum of 35 hours per week plus shared, fully-furnished accommodations provided at a rate of just $50 per month.
(Hours must be flexible, evenings and weekends)
