Osoyoos & District Museum and Archives - Curatorial Assistant

The Osoyoos Museum is seeking an energetic and conscientious student between 16 and 30 years old to work as a Curatorial Assistant. The position will assist with a variety of museum collections management tasks to help improve the care and management of the museum collection, as well as other duties. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Curatorial Assistant will conduct collection inventories; catalogue artifacts and archival materials; research objects and topics and assist with the preparation of exhibits; from time to time help volunteers with front desk reception; and light housekeeping duties as required.

Students must be registered in full-time post secondary studies for the fall of 2016. Computer proficiency and good organizational skills are essential. Clean, neat attire requested, the student will make public presentations and/or appearances representing our organization. Weekend work required. Wage is $12.50/hour. The position will start May 15 and end August 28, 2017. For students wishing to relocate to Osoyoos; arrangements for accommodation during the tourist season must be made in advance.
