The Stratford Perth Museum, a small community museum located just outside Stratford Ontario, is seeking applications for the position of museum assistant for the period of May to September.
The successful candidates will gain experience in almost every facet of a museum career including exhibits, education and programming and patron services.
Applicants must be eligible under Young Canada Works criteria.
Additionally, the Stratford Perth Museum is partnering with the Stratford Festival, the Royal Ontario Museum, Parks Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario to present our canon of exhibits for the summer of 2017.
These exhibits support the Stratford Festival’s 2017 playbill and as a result the successful YCW candidates will work closely with the Stratford Festival in a number of areas.
There are full-time positions, 35 hours a week for 16 weeks. Work schedules will include some nights and weekends. Working well with the public and visitors, a knowledge of the theatre, and a passion for history and museums are significant attributes.
