Job Description: Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Museum. The primary focus will be customer service (greeting visitors, guiding visitors through the exhibits, answering questions, recording research requests). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing historical brochures of the area (historical research and analysis, writing and formatting to the print-ready stage). The successful candidate will also participate in the digitization of photographs and records from the physical archives.
Qualifications: Candidates should demonstrate an outgoing personality and ability to connect with the general public, verbally and in writing. Previous experience in face-to-face customer service would be an asset. Past experience and/or training in museum operations would also be an asset. Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and database operation is required. A prior interest in and knowledge of local history is also an asset. All candidates must be registered in the YCW on-line candidate inventory and meet all eligibility requirements of the YCW program.
